Day 13
We left camp fairly early in the morning to go to the Grand Canyon. It was a bit of a drive, so by the time we got there the Arizona sun was high and hot! We walked out onto a few ledges that had fences and handrails, and watched as some dumb people posed their toddler in a non-gated area where he could easily fall off. It was really pretty, but you could only see so much of it from the ledges we could stand on. We left a little disappointed that we didn't get to see more. Then, Dad pulled into a helicopter tour place and everyone got excited. We went in, got signed up watched a safety video, and off we went. Our pilot was nice and really knew what he was doing. The Grand Canyon was beautiful from the sky, we could see the Colorado River, it was a pretty turquoise blue. It was exhilarating and exhausting, so after we landed we headed back to camp to relax after a long day in the heat. The kids hit the pool and the parents chilled at the RV, and we met up a little later and the mini restaurant for diner. We got wings! YUM! After showers and a walk around camp, we all settled in for another family movie. This time, we watched Blended. It was a very comical and entertaining movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. While it was entertaining, it is also rated PG-13, so I wouldn't recommend it for any younger kids.
