Meteor Crater

6/21/15
Day 14

We decided to head out a few days early so that we could spend more time with our cousins Parker and Tyson, as well as my Aunt Stephanie (Uncle Jarod was away for work, so we didn't get to see him). We left early in the morning, and made a stop at Meteor Crater. It was pretty neat.  We were all playing with this meteor simulator, changing the density, size, and velocity of the meteor to see what kind of damage the different combinations would do. Dad managed to destroy planet earth. The Crater is really big, and it was pretty interesting to hear a few theories behind it and how it was determined to be a meteor crater. We watched a video about how they determined it to be a crater and how it was believed to have been formed. I'm not really into astronomy, so it wasn't my favorite stop, but I will admit it was interesting. We left after browsing the gift shop, eager to see our cousins. We made it to the DeAnda's by 5 p.m. The kids swam and to finish off the night, we ate Father's Day steak dinner.
