Our Adventure began Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 6am
We got up about 4:30am and prepared for our Illinois departure at 5:30am..... or 6 haha!
First stop..... drum roll please......
SHERKSTON- ONTARIO, CANADA
We had a 10 hour drive ahead of us. Destination- SHERKSTON SHORES CAREFREE RV RESORT in Sherkston-Ontario Canada. 12 hours later.... we arrived at our destination!
As we pulled into the park, the kids were SO excited about the park amenities that they saw; waterslides, game rooms, food, pools, splash pads, beaches, tennis courts, basketball courts, mini golf, ohhhh and lots and lots of golf carts! There was plenty of fun to be had! First things first so we made our way around the park and set up the RV for our weeks stay. We introduced ourselves to our new neighbors and they told us we arrived just in time for fireworks right outside our back door. BONUS! We quick grabbed some dinner at the park Restaurant, Boston Pizza, and headed back for the fireworks.
-On a side note-
I spent the last couple of weeks planning meals and pre-cooking. I froze many items to be used along the way. While preparing the RV we found out that we couldn't take certain items over the boarder into Canada. This includes; meat, vegetables, fruit, dairy and a few other items. EEEKKK! Thats my whole list! So, our perishables went to a better home and my frozen meals will be there when we get home. We set off without much in the way of food. We didn't want to chance them pitching everything. So as we crossed the border, their only concern was if us American's were packing any guns... (end side note)

That is a bummer about the food situation. But sounds like a great start.
