Today we drove to Georgetown which is known for its miles of upscale shops and restaurants along the beautiful Potomac River. Our goal today was to take the boat tour of Washington DC from the River. The boats ran on the hour so we took some time to walk around and stop for a late lunch. We ate at Nick's Riverside Grill. Due to the excessive heat, we chose to eat indoors, thank goodness. The food was very good. After Dinner, we walked back down to the boat ramp to catch the next tour. Suddenly a very large bus pulled up and let a group of people off that filed onto the boat. Apparently they prepaid for group tickets and there wasn't any room left on board for our family. We were bummed and didn't want to wait another hour due to a storm expected later in the evening. We walked up to the shops and browsed for a short time. We purchased a pair of tennis shoes for Colin and the minute we stepped outside it began to pour! We ducked into a covered alley and had Colin quick change back into his old shoes and we ran several blocks back to the car. We were so thankful there wasn't any room on that boat!

| Love this building architecture. They wanted everyone to have a view of the river. |
