Vosslings Adventure Part 2- Day 10

Day 10

Monday, June 27, 2016 Old Orchard Beach Day

We finally made our way to the beach! We knew it would be a bit overcast but we were so glad the crowd fizzled out after the weekend. As we made our way down the beach, the sign said the water was 57 degrees. Oh my goodness this might not go over well. The tide was low and you could see how far the tide would come up throughout the day so we picked our spot accordingly. Josh and I went back up to the corner store to grab some boogie boards we saw in the window.

The boogie boards were a hit with all of the kids. When Carmen came back from her boogie board time, she said "are you sure this isn't the Arctic Ocean!" BRRRRR. Once you were in the water, you pretty much get hypothermia and then just can't feel your extremities anymore. HA! Josh went out and taught the boys how the ride the waves. I of course had freaked out mom written across my forehead as I followed them around like a crazy person. The waves were just big enough to take them under.

At lunch time, the wind really picked up. We ate a picnic lunch and sand started pelting you, or so I thought..... Josh, that little brat, was secretly throwing sand in my direction just to hear me complain about the wind. He loves to be a pest! All jokes aside, the wind did bother us enough that it wasn't enjoyable anymore. We packed up, got cleaned up, and headed back to The Pier for our final night in Maine. The weather was turning dark and cold fast so we hit the Amusement Park first. The boys chose to do the rides we don't see back at home, it was a blast! We decided to eat dinner at the end of the Pier. The food was pretty much the same as Hooligan's but we were looking for the experience. As we ate out delicious lobster roll, you could feel the Pier sway in the heavy wind. It was an experience alright.
