Day 9
Sunday, June 26, 2016 Sunday FUN Day
We decided to take it easy today and take the time to finish planning the remainder of the trip. We planned on making a few college visits while on this trip but came to the conclusion that she had made up her mind and has her sights set on one school in particular... To be announced at a later date.
The boys were enjoying the BMX track at the Resort. It was a small freedom that they could enjoy on their own. We sent the big kids to do the Aerial Adventure park. Once Josh and I wrapped things up we walked over to sign the little boys up for the Aerial Adventure. She informed us that its a 2 hour adventure and the last one starts in 5 minutes! EEEK.. so we hauled butt back to the RV and grabbed our bikes. When we arrived Carmen and Chandler were just finishing their adventure. When I saw them zip lining back and forth high above us, I freaked a little. Heights just aren't my thing. They LOVED it! Carmen felt the little kids adventure line was much more difficult than the adult course. (oh great) So after formal training with the little boys, I video recorded the big kids climbing a huge tree and jumping off to get down. When Carmen got to the top she froze and could feel the tree swaying. She hesitated to jump but she DID! Chandler and Carmen both helped the boys through the course. Colin and Charlie did great. Those boys have no fear. There were a few moments when Charlie's legs were too short or ropes got stuck but all and all, I was very impressed. As we came to the end of the adventure, Carmen and Chandler decided to see who could suspend upside down all the way to the ground. The guide decided he was going to join in. They both looked like limp noodles. Lets just said the guide won!
On our way back, the boys wanted to show us the BMX track. Each one of them took their turn around the track. Then they were chanting for Dad to take a turn. Of course he didn't pass up a dare so dad took his turn wobbling his way around the gravel slick track. Colin couldn't stand the pressure to compete so to show up his dad he took a speedy start and we all could see this wouldn't end well so as he came around the first curve, the kid crashed and burned... he was able to brush himself off and give us a thumbs up from across the track. We giggled our way home.
