Today we are going sailing!! We were all super excited for this day. We woke up to heavy rain and just prayed it would clear up by 4pm. For those who don't know me well, I have a bit of a green face when on a boat. It's not pretty. Josh had gotten some good tips from different people on how to help me with that. I took my meds and put on my wristbands and I was ready to go! The sky was clear and the sun was reflecting off the water. The sailboats were stunning lined up along the water. A sight I could never be bored of. We introduced ourselves to Captain Bob, he was a pretty funny guy. The kids were comfortable on his boat the "Flying Circus." We took a private tour around the island and he was very informative on the history of the Island among other things. Colin kept asking him about sharks and whales. He was determined to get every bit of information about Megalodon Sharks out of this man. I kinda felt bad. He just wouldn't let it go. He taught the boys how to put the sails up and take them down. He even let them steer the boat. They were so proud of themselves. I was proud of the fact I wasn't green faced by the end of the trip.
We planned on having a sit down dinner at the marina but by the time we got back, the wait was over an hour. That was a bummer. It was a little difficult to find a place to eat because they are all hiding in the trees and you couldn't see them from the road. We had to map places beforehand. Captain Bob told us his wife works at Hudson's so we thought we would try there. We drove out to Hudson's which turns out to be a lovely restaurant on a dock with about 100 people in line waiting for a table. That was NOT going to happen. People must really love their food cause they were melting sitting in the sun waiting for a table. We remembered there was an Italian food Restaurant around the corner from our RV Resort so we were excited to see there wasn't a long line to get in when we pulled up. Dinner was great at Carrabba's Italian Restaurant. I would recommend it.
