Monday, July 11, 2016 THE BEACH
Our plan for this visit to Myrtle Beach was to just wing it! We planned nothing. Relax, enjoy, reflect, have FUN! That's it! In 12 short hours of being there, I would have to say it's my favorite Resort so far. It's the people, atmosphere, beach, pools, air, and night life within the resort. As it turns out, this Resort is a Christian run facility. It was a pleasant surprise to us. It's not advertised, but it was a great addition to this pretty awesome place. They have Church on Sunday morning and bible studies at the coffee house if you want to attend. I think it is unanimous for me to say we love it and will be back.
Today, we went to the grocery store and stocked up for the week. When we were loading the car, a storm rolled in so we went shopping at one of the many souvenir shops in town. It's a little obnoxious how many of the same shops are downtown. I was in love with the colors of beach houses and shops along the ocean. Nothing like what you see in the midwest.
Back at the RV, we unloaded the groceries and couldn't wait to get down to the beach now that the storm passed. It was so hot and humid but it was a beautiful sunny day to be at the beach. The ocean was so warm which was a pleasant surprise from the same freezing cold ocean we felt in Maine 2 weeks earlier. The kids enjoyed their time at the beach and caught some waves on their boards.
A storm came in quick so we scooped up our stuff and went back to the RV. I got the best mom award for letting them have ice cream for dinner. At bedtime Josh realized he lost his wedding ring which was in the pocket of his beach chair. He knew it had to be on the beach because his phone fell out of that same pocket when we were rushing off the beach. Chandler and Carmen decided to take their flashlights down to the beach and look for it. Not 5 minutes passed when the thunder hit and the rain began to pour. I was so nervous they were out there in this horrible weather. The rain was coming down sideways. I was watching down the lane to see them running towards the RV. They were absolutely soaked. The odds of Josh's ring being found were not good.
