Day 22 Oklahoma Bound

Day 22

Depart  Albuquerque, New Mexico- Central KOA
Destination   Lawton, Oklahoma- Buffalo Bills RV Park
482 miles, 7 hours

June 29, 2015

We left Albuquerque, New Mexico around 8am. We wished we had time to enjoy all of the awesome amenities at the Central KOA but we were only resting our heads over night after spending the evening at cousin David and Jamie's house. I won't be reviewing the KOA. We have very little to go on but it was a beautiful lot with some pretty cool amenities.

We had a pretty easy day ahead of us. We were all eager to get to Oklahoma to see Great Grandma Baggett and Grandma Baggett. Josh and I decided to play the game "Rubberneckers" on our 7 hour drive. It was pretty difficult to play this object spotting game when you are literally in the middle of nowhere! We had to find a car with 3 passengers, something advertising coke, a firetruck, a city line sign and a PAYPHONE just to name a few. Believe it or not Josh won the game (surprise, surprise). The drive from NM to Oklahoma took us through Texas. I must admit I was nervous driving the unknown during our travels. We had nothing to worry about at all. We had open road and some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. Just as we pulled into Texas, I had a little tap-tap on my shoulder. Colin was so excited to tell me he LOST A TOOTH IN TEXAS! We really hoped the tooth fairy would find us in Oklahoma.

We arrived at Buffalo Bills RV Park in Lawton, OK. After we unloaded and contacted our family we met Josh's mom at her home and had a tour of her new place. We then took her out to dinner at one of our hometown favorite places, Applebee's.
