Family Gathering
June 30, 2015
On Day 23 we spent time with Great Grandma Baggett at her home. It was so wonderful to see her and give her a big squeeze. We took lots of pictures and talked about what the kids were up to these days. Grandma was happy to see them and take height measurements (they grow like a weed). We left for a little while to get ready for a fun evening with Josh's extended family from the area. Josh's Uncle Mitch and Aunt Jeannie invited us over along with their grown children and family for dinner and some playful banter. The kids swam and got to meet their third cousins for the first time. Charlie met his older twin, Cousin Brent. Charlie and Brent are very much alike with the exception of a 27 year age gap. We loved watching them interact with each other. Charlie wanted to be just like him. I loved looking around and seeing all of the Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, Grandma and Great Grandma laughing and enjoying a great meal prepared for all of us. We had some great conversation and some pretty good chuckles and ended the evening feeling thankful for every minute we had with them.
July 1, 2015
On Day 24 we went to breakfast with Cousin Brent and went straight to Great Grandma's for some one on one time. Grandma really wanted to play a game and was eager to teach us all how to play "Spinner" by Dominos. We had a BLAST! The kids caught on quickly and we spent a few hours enjoying a fun game and some game play banter. Around lunch time we let Grandma have her lunch and rest while we spent some time swimming at Uncle Mitch and Aunt Jeannie's house. When Uncle Mitch arrived home after work we all went out to dinner with Mitch and Jeannie and then went back to Grandma's for some more game time. We topped off the evening with several rounds of "Spinner" and some big hugs. Grandma blessed the kids with her words of wisdom and love as we said our goodbyes. I hope the kids will take away some pretty fond memories to last a lifetime. I know I did.
